Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there is a great need for personal protective gear in our community and across the nation. You can help by creating something at home. Here are some suggestions and tutorials on how you can help!
The basics? Good coverage is important. The mask should reach above the bridge of the nose and below the chin. Fit is important. A mask should be snug. A fabric tie might work better than an elastic band. And if a mask is going to be reused, it must be kept clean. It should be at least 2 layers and some say that including a small pocket or pouch, into which an additional filter can be inserted is helpful.
If you are local, The Cotton Blossom Fabric Shoppe is a drop off location and we will distribute to local hospitals, medical clinics and nursing homes in need.
We ask that you launder the items and place in a ziploc bag.
