Requirements:
  1. SUPPLIES NEEDED:
  • Floating Windows pattern by Boho Blanket
  • Sewing Machine in good working order

Fabric & Thread:

  • 1 ¾ yards background fabric
  • 1 ¾ yards accent and binding fabric
  • Twelve ¼ yard cuts OR Six ½ yard cuts of focus fabrics
  • Thread that matches background

Notions:

  • Basic Sewing Supplies
  • Best Press
  • Cutting Mat and Rotary Cutter
  • 12.5” square ruler 
  • 6.5” x 24” long ruler OR 16.5”  Square ruler (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

PRE-CLASS HOMEWORK:  This is the cutting for the whole quilt.  

If you can do it all before class, then the sewing will be easy.  

If you cannot, then do a few of each size.  Place all the different sizes into labeled baggies, please.

  • From the Background fabric:
    • Cut three 4.5” WOF strips.  
      • Subcut (24) 4.5” squares           
    • Cut two 2.5” WOF strips.  
      • Subcut (12) rectangles 2.5” x 6.5”           
    • Cut three 2.5” WOF strips.  
      • Subcut (12) rectangles 2.5” x 8.5”           
  • For Background Border:    
    • Cut Seven 4.25” WOF strips.  Piece as needed
  • From the Accent Window Frame:
    • Cut six 2.5” WOF strips.  
      • Subcut (24) rectangles 2.5” x 8.5”
    • Cut eight 2.5” WOF strips.  
      • Subcut (24) rectangles 2.5” x 12.5
Instructor: Dorinda Evans
Instructor Bio: Dorinda Evans is a life-time quilter who enjoys sharing tips and techniques for improving excellence and ease in the process. She has a history that includes directing, judging, and participating in quilt shows where she has won numerous ribbons from local to international levels. Judges most often comment on her use of color, design, and innovation. During her time in the Craftsmans Guild of Mississippi, Dorinda won the Best Craftsmanship Award twice. The Curator of the MS Museum of Art placed 10 of Dorindas quilts into an exhibit at the museum. Dorinda’s work has been featured in quilting magazines, books, YouTube videos, and the American Quilt Society calendar. She has pattern tested for GE Designs and loves to simplify patterns for her students. Dorinda has taught quilting classes for quilt shops, quilting associations, and has been invited to lecture and teach guilds throughout the South.
