Blue Plate Toweling

This 16-inch wide and by-the-yard toweling will give your next creative fabric endeavor a vintage look. Use the toweling for a variety of projects such as hand towels or kitchen towels, aprons, placemats, small curtains, pillow covers, table runners, tote bags, Japanese-style clothing, and much more. Embellish with hand embroidery or sashiko, stenciling, applique, simple trims or use as is as a yarn-dyed fabric in quilts and wall hangings. Comes with the selvedge edges pre-hemmed so only the cut edges need to be hemmed.

Toweling Washing and Care Instructions:

With this and any other fabric, ensure your finished project looks professional by pre-washing. Launder your toweling using the same method that you'll be using for the finished project. This will allow natural shrinkage of the fabric fibers to occur before you embellish or sew. Bind the cut ends to prevent excessive fraying. If you don't pre-wash, you risk the fabric shrinking at a different rate from other sewn fabric or around any embellishment, creating wrinkles and puckers that cannot be removed. Remember, each fabric can and will shrink at varying degrees, so if you combine this fabric with others, pre-wash. Pre-washing also removes any excess dyes. Pre-wash cold, tumble dry to shrink.
